You’re out for a stroll in the woods when you come across something that glints in the sunlight, it’s bright enough to catch your attention and draw you in… hmm, as you get near you see that it’s some kind of string caught in the brush, no, it’s a ribbon, it’s golden and it glitters in the light like new….your fingers graze the material and a corner of your mouth upturns in a half smile, a vague memory of childhood wonderment clouds your mind. You grab the ribbon, tie it about your wrist and feel compelled enough to continue deeper into the forest. Only a few steps taken and you feel…weird…lighter… the ribbon you tied around your wrists is now carrying with it a single pink balloon. This can’t be right..you take a few more steps and start to feel dizzy, maybe you should turn around… that would be best. As you will your body back the way you came you immediately bump face first into, what is this? Another balloon?! You smack it out of the way and try again with the same result. You can feel the panic rising and close your eyes. Suddenly your mind is flooded with a distant laugher…It’s cute, but you’re still panicked. You breathe deep and open your eyes. The balloons are surrounding you now, in every direction. The laugher is growing closer. Fuck this! RUN! Every step you take is just bringing you further into the balloons now and you’re not even sure if you’re headed if the right direction..you didn’t come that far in, did you? You stop to catch your breath and close your eyes again, the laugher stops. The air is still. You focus on your breathing and convince yourself it’s just a dream, that you’ll open your eyes and everything will be normal. So you try, s l o w l y…. You’re no longer surround by balloons….
Your eyes start to focus and there’s figure before you, and then you recognize the giggling….
She offers you a balloon….
