Lovers!
We have been taking an involuntary step back the last couple of days because of some absolute shit we have had to deal with. We were a part of a group of 35 dancers here who submitted a petition together asking for some changes and fair labor rights. This is the strip club that we have have loved working at, where we both met for the first time and have been there for years. 19 out of the 35 dancers who asked for some changes were fired on the spot, ourselves included. The rest will probably be next as soon as they can cover their asses. So we have been a combination of sad/angry and extremely angry while dealing with this. We have made some progress with activism and plans together, to make things better for our industry long term but this week has been a bit of a tough pill to swallow. We are so grateful that we have you all and so much love online that makes this a little easier to deal with. Unfortunately in our line of work, because of the minimal labor rights and stigma attached to it there usually isn't a lot of support for us. This is slowly changing and at least makes us hopeful for the future.
